Kangaroo steaks in red wine sauce cooked with Cooxy

Have you ever eaten Kangaroo? No ? Well imagine a juicy delicious meat. Today we are offering a recipe for the best flavoured kangaroo steaks accompanied by a red wine and shallot sauce. The ideal recipe to impress your barbecue comrades, and especially their taste buds.

The ingredients (for 8 people)

  • 8 kangaroo steaks

  • 12 shallots

  • 80g butter

  • 400ml red wine

  • 1600ml veal stock

  • Olive oil

  • Salt

  • Pepper

For this recipe we advise you to prepare the sauce before going to your grilling place. However, know that it is quite possible to make it on Cooxy, just think about taking a pan.

The preparation

The first step in this recipe is to make a red wine and shallot sauce, a sauce that will go perfectly with your kangaroo steaks.

To do this, start by finely chopping your shallots and then melt the butter in a pan. Add the shallots and let it colour for a few minutes, then de-glaze with the red wine. Let the acidity evaporate for a few minutes. Finally, add the veal stock and simmer for about fifteen minutes over medium heat.

Your sauce is ready, all you have to do is cook the meat.

The cooking

First of all, you need to light your Cooxy connected barbecue using your smartphone application. Set the thermostat to 260 °.

Once the requested temperature has been reached, pour a drizzle of olive oil on the heating part of Cooxy then place the kangaroos in it. Cook the meat for 6 to 8 minutes on each side depending on the desired doneness (usually the kangaroo is tasted rare). Check the cooking, salt and pepper to your liking.

The tasting

And there you are, it's ready, all you have to do is serve, add the sauce and enjoy!
